Job summary

IVC is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join a multi-site small animal practice in the Tyne and Wear area. The role emphasizes delivering high-quality care across consultations, surgery and diagnostics, with mentoring and development opportunities.

The successful candidate will have a veterinary degree with RCVS registration (or eligibility), strong diagnostic and surgical skills, and the ability to work well within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• RVTS: Veterinary degree and registration with the RCVS (or eligibility)
• Experience in clinical practice with confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
• Strong communication and relationship-building with clients and colleagues
• Proactive learning mindset and collaborative approach

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality small animal veterinary care across consultations, surgery, and diagnostics
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure excellent patient and client care
• Manage a varied first-opinion caseload with clinical freedom and support as needed
• Develop clinical interests and share knowledge with the team
• Maintain high clinical standards across the practice
