Stansted Veterinary Specialists is a new, independent multidisciplinary small animal referral clinic near London Stansted Airport. We are expanding our team of Clinic Veterinary Surgeons with an emergency bias and a broad caseload.
Clinicians will work across disciplines, assess and manage emergency and critical care patients, and collaborate with specialists in a supportive, state-of-the-art referral environment. The role includes a 40-hour week on a six-week rotating rota.
Stansted Veterinary Specialists is a new, independent, multidisciplinary small animal referral clinic, opened in August 2025 and located less than a mile from London Stansted Airport.
We provide specialist-led services in Anaesthesia & Analgesia, Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, Internal Medicine, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Oncology, Orthopaedics and Soft Tissue Surgery. We are proudly independent and owned exclusively by members of the team working within the clinic, allowing us to put patients, clients and our people at the heart of the decisions we make.
As our clinic continues to grow, we are looking to expand our team of Clinic Veterinary Surgeons.
Our Clinic Vets are at the core of the clinic, working across disciplines rather than within a single specialist service. This role is ideal for a motivated, well-rounded small animal vet who enjoys a varied caseload, has a particular interest in emergency medicine, but also values the breadth of working across different areas of small animal medicine.
You will be involved in the assessment and management of emergency and critical care patients within our referral caseload, working closely with specialists throughout the hospital. This provides an excellent opportunity to build confidence and develop more advanced clinical skills while benefiting from the support, expertise and facilities of a multidisciplinary referral environment. Our Clinic Vets also have primary responsibility for patients presenting through our out-of-hours service on behalf of local referring practices.
The position would suit an experienced small animal practitioner who is comfortable managing a broad range of emergency presentations, enjoys thinking on their feet and is keen to continue developing across multiple disciplines. Completion of a multidisciplinary rotating internship would be advantageous but is not essential.
This role offers something a little different from both traditional first-opinion practice and a discipline-specific referral position.
You can retain the variety and breadth that makes general small animal practice rewarding while managing more challenging cases with the facilities, expertise and specialist support of a multidisciplinary referral clinic around you.
For someone who particularly enjoys emergency medicine and the challenge of a varied caseload within a collaborative referral environment, but doesn't want to narrow their career to a single discipline, this is an opportunity to develop advanced skills while continuing to enjoy the diversity of small animal medicine.
