Job summary

Chattyvets in Sutton-in-Ashfield is seeking a veterinary surgeon to deliver high-quality first-opinion care within a collaborative team. You will run consultations, perform routine surgery, and manage cases using in-house diagnostics with strong nursing support.

The role offers 35–40 hours per week over 4 days, with 1 in 4 Saturdays and no out-of-hours shifts, plus a generous benefits package and CPD support.

Qualifications

• Must be confident in routine GP work and able to manage cases end-to-end.
• Experience with routine surgery and theatre scheduling is preferred.
• Strong client communication and team collaboration are essential.
• Willingness to mentor colleagues where interests align.

Responsibilities

• Run consultations and manage cases through investigation, treatment planning and follow-up.
• Perform routine surgery and contribute to a safe, well-run theatre schedule.
• Work up a varied caseload using in-house diagnostics and nursing support.
• Maintain excellent client communication and high standards of patient care.
• Support a positive team culture; mentoring is welcomed where it fits your interests.
