Job description

An opportunity is available from December for an experienced vet seeking a senior position.

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic vet to join our friendly team based at our Duns branch.

We get the best of both worlds being based in the beautiful rural Scottish Borders but within an hour's drive of Edinburgh.

We are a mixed practice with excellent small animal facilities, having recently moved to new premises. Our modern diagnostic equipment includes new DR x-ray, dental x-ray and good quality ultrasound. We aim to provide a great first opinion service with clinical freedom to follow cases up.

You'll be joining a supportive, collaborative team of experienced vets who enjoy sharing ideas and discussing cases. The ideal candidate will also take satisfaction in mentoring and guiding our younger colleagues as they develop their skills.

Most of our vets work a 4.5 day week but there is potential for flexibility.

The role at the moment includes being part of our out-of-hours on call rota, with time in lieu for nights and weekends on call. Currently a 1 in 8 with 1 in 4 Saturday mornings.

Salary will be dependent upon experience, but the total package would include the benefits listed below. A number of vets in the practice are enrolled in certificate programmes (with study time provided) to actively promote career progression.

The role would suit a confident vet who enjoys working as part of an experienced, enthusiastic team, providing excellent clinical care and who is keen to develop their skills.

As proud members of the VetPartners family our fantastic range of benefits includes:

  • Colleague dogs welcome
  • Competitive colleague discount rates on products (cost price) and services (50%)
