Job description
Overview

Our client has a great opportunity for an experienced Vet to join them as a hospital vet near Brighton. The hospital has a large, purpose-built facility with high-tech equipment including CT scan, ultrasound, digital x-ray, laparoscopy, rigid and flexible endoscopy, and an in-house laboratory. The team provides dedicated cat, dog, exotic, isolation, and day procedure wards with a strong nurse and support team, and runs a fully staffed out-of-hours service alongside the day team.

The successful candidate will be comfortable with all aspects of veterinary work, including consulting, surgery, diagnostic imaging, and independently managing medical cases. Leadership, mentoring of less experienced vets, and a focus on excellent client service are essential, along with an active interest in developing the business.

Responsibilities
  • Be a key member of the veterinary practice team, comfortable with consulting, surgery, diagnostic imaging (X-rays, ultrasound, and CT where available), and managing medical cases independently.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to less experienced vets and support the broader team.
  • Deliver outstanding client service with a contextualised approach to patient care.
  • Support and contribute to business development and growth initiatives.
  • Handle a varied caseload, including more technically challenging cases referred from the hospital’s network.
  • Engage in high-quality patient care across the hospital’s dedicated wards and facilities.
Qualifications
  • Experience as a veterinary surgeon with a broad clinical skill set.
  • Holding a certificate or working towards one would be beneficial.
