Sliding Head Setter Programmer

We are working with a prestigious company that produces high-quality precision machined components to meet customer specifications. Key skills required:

• Proven experience in setting and programming CNC sliding head lathes
• Experience with Citizen or Star machines
• Ability to work to tight tolerances with various metals, including exotic alloys
• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
• Engineering apprenticeship or relevant experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Set and program Citizen or Star sliding head lathes for precision batch production
• Read, interpret, and work to complex engineering drawings and specifications
• Perform first-off inspections and quality checks
• Work on prototype and batch production in line with schedules
• Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain machines
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment following health & safety guidelines

The Role:

This hands-on role involves setting, programming, and operating sliding head CNC lathes to produce small to medium batch components. The work requires precision to aerospace tolerances and involves materials like stainless steel, aluminium, brass, and titanium.

The successful candidate will receive:
