Here at the No7 Beauty Company we have an exciting opportunity to join our business and be part of the #1 Skin Care brand in the UK as a Skin Data Science Manager, leading data innovation across our R&D team to drive evidence‑based innovation, product development and to support robust product claims.

Reporting to the Head of Product Performance & Testing, you will lead a team of data scientists and analysts, with one direct report. In this pivotal role, you will promote the use of predictive modelling, machine learning, and advanced analytics to uncover new relationships between skin biology, product performance, and formulation science. You'll set the direction for the team and help build internal capabilities across the team. You'll also be responsible for building scalable data pipelines and tools that promote fast, efficient analysis across the team, and for translating complex academic research outputs into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities
  • Oversee the design and execution of analytical approaches to clinical, instrumental, and imaging data.
  • Develop predictive models and machine learning approaches to support claims substantiation and guide future product innovation.
  • Translate academic research data (e.g., omics, imaging, clinical studies) into usable formats and insights for scientists across the R&D team.
  • Introduce and evaluate new tools and technologies to enhance data analysis, visualisation, and reproducibility.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with skin scientists, formulation scientists and claims experts.
  • Ensure data integrity, quality, and regulatory compliance in all analyses and reporting.
  • Drive integration of multi-modal data sources to create a comprehensive picture of skin health and product performance.
  • Build and maintain knowledge systems and dashboards to track skin metrics, study outcomes, and historical benchmarks.
  • Upskill and mentor R&D colleagues, fostering a culture of data literacy and analytical thinking.
  • Identify and implement data automation models for use at all levels across R&D.
What you'll need to have
  • Advanced degree in data science.
  • Proven experience in data science, machine learning, or statistical modelling, ideally within the beauty industry or life sciences.
  • Excellent organizational skills with experience managing large content libraries or databases.
  • Excellent communication skills to share findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders through visualisations, presentations, and reports.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar, with experience in data wrangling, modelling, and visualisation.
  • Proficiency with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure).
  • Stay current with emerging tools, techniques, and trends in data science and AI, and evaluate their potential for adoption.

  • Experience building and implementing a data strategy.
  • Experience working with academic research data, including translating complex outputs into business-relevant insights. Familiarity with global skincare regulatory frameworks (EU, US, Asia) a plus.
  • Experience in scientific communications, claims substantiation, or evidence generation in the skincare, cosmetics, or healthcare sectors.
