Job summary

Mears Group in Croydon is seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator to carry out internal decorations across residential properties. You will prepare surfaces, apply finishes, wallpaper where needed, and ensure work meets safety and quality standards.

The role is hands-on, requiring precision, and you will work independently or with a maintenance team to restore lettable homes. We value attention to detail, safety, and reliable communication with tenants and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Proven painting and decorating experience, including wallpapering.
• Experience with damp and mould treatment.
• Ability to work at height and use ladders safely.
• Strong eye for detail and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and painting internal surfaces including walls, ceilings, doors and woodwork.
• Applying emulsion, gloss and specialist finishes with care.
• Wallpapering and decorative detailing where required.
• External painting at height using ladders (fascia boards and soffits).
• Damp & mould treatment and safety compliance.
