Job summary

Barhale Ltd is recruiting a Skilled Operative to support civil engineering and groundworks at Barhale Site, Biddulph, Staffordshire. You will work under site supervisors and gangers, carrying out drainage, concreting, kerbing and pavements tasks with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The role requires CSCS card and CPCS qualifications, with experience in earthworks and related activities. We offer a competitive salary, pension, life cover, health plan, and generous leave.

Qualifications

• Experience in general civil work (earthwork, drainage, ducting, kerbing, and concreting)
• CSCS card
• CPCS forward tipping dumper/sligner signaller/ride on roller/360 excavator/telehandler

Responsibilities

• Understand all relevant risk and method statements
• Use best/safe practice on all tasks carried out
• Checks are conducted to ensure equipment that may be used is safe
• Install drainage, lay concrete, kerbs, and pavements, and carry out excavation and groundworks, digging trenches, loading and unloading materials
• Ensure a safe, tidy place of work
• Implement best practice procedures
• Maximise use of own working time
• Ensure signed up for all permits and briefings before commencing any work
• Communicate with the site supervisor on any concerns
• Feedback to site management with near-miss reporting
• Ensure you attend all site briefings, forums, and toolbox talks
• Deputise for conducting briefings and toolbox talks

The Role
