Job summary

John Lewis Partnership is seeking a Warehouse Operative at our Cranbrook Way Customer Delivery Hub in Solihull. You will load/unload stock, accurately record deliveries, move stock around the warehouse and prepare orders for delivery, while prioritising safety and health guidelines.

The role involves heavy lifting and varied shifts across seven days, with an annual pay rate of £13.30 per hour. This is a permanent, full-time position based in Solihull.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will be responsible for ensuring the warehouse supports all the Partnership channels by handling stock coming in and being sent out of the warehouse. Performing tasks of unloading and loading stock, accurately recording deliveries into the warehouse, moving stock around the warehouse and collecting stock for deliveries. All these tasks are to be performed in a safe manner with an awareness of individual responsibility for health and safety at all times. Please note that this role involves heavy lifting.

In addition to your contractual pay, any time worked between 18:00 - 22:00 will attract an Evening Premium at a rate of £2.75 per hour, and any time worked between 22:00 - 06:00 will attract a Night Premium at a rate of £3.75 per hour. This will also apply to existing Partners who have enrolled onto Enhanced Hours Premium arrangements.

Essential skills/experience you’ll need

• Communication skills - including telephone skills, verbal and written.
• Understanding of Google Suite/Programmes.

Desirable skills/experience you may have

• Category B manual UK driving licence (no more than 6 points).
• Previous Warehousing experience.
• Previous Customer Service experience.
