Job summary

RG Setsquare is seeking an experienced Skilled Labourer / Handyman to support the Temporary Works Coordinator on a construction project installing temporary steel props to structural steelwork on an MOD site. Start ASAP for a 6-week duration.

The role is hands-on, requiring practical skills, close adherence to site procedures and safe practice. The successful candidate will install, position and adjust props, follow drawings, and work under supervision while maintaining a clean, safe site and

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Skilled Labourer, Handyman, Construction Operative or similar.
• Good practical/manual skills.
• Experience with hand tools and basic power tools.
• Ideally experience with builders' props, propping, temporary works or structural steelwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Temporary Works Coordinator with the installation of temporary props.
• Move, position and install adjustable steel/builders' props as instructed.
• Position props against or beneath structural steelwork in accordance with instructions.
• Adjust and secure props correctly to provide temporary support.
• Use hand tools and power tools where required.
• Follow temporary works drawings, instructions and site procedures.
• Ensure props and associated materials are installed safely and correctly.
• Report any damaged equipment, incorrect positioning or safety concerns to the TWC/site supervisor.
