Job summary

3Recruit Ltd seeks an experienced General Builder for ongoing full-time contract work in Southampton. The role covers reactive maintenance, repairs and refurbishment across residential and commercial properties, with opportunities to apply multiple trades.

You should bring proven multi-trader experience, the ability to work independently and maintain high safety standards. A full UK driving licence is preferred to travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Multi Trader / General Builder / Property Maintenance Operative
• Competent across several trades (carpentry, plumbing, decorating etc.)
• Experience working in residential or commercial maintenance environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Good communication and customer service skills
• NVQ qualification in a building trade
• CSCS Card
• Experience working within care homes, housing, or commercial property maintenance

Responsibilities

• General property maintenance and building works
• Basic carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, decorating and patch repairs
• Kitchen and bathroom repairs / minor installations
• Flooring repairs and installations
• Internal and external maintenance works
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
• Maintaining a professional approach when working in occupied properties
