£35k-£40k per annum

Overview

This role is for a skilled fitter or mechanical engineer who enjoys hands‑on work and wishes to progress within a stable and well‑established engineering team that services heavy rail vehicles and industrial equipment in Manchester.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair heavy vehicle components as part of a specialist team.
  • Use a variety of specialised tools and equipment to carry out routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Support the depot’s 24/7, 365‑day operation by working a rotating shift pattern (earliest to late). Commit to rosters 4–6 weeks in advance.
  • Work flexibly, including weekend and optional Sunday hours, with enhanced pay for off‑hour work.
