Are you are skilled fitter / mechanical engineer looking for a hands-on opportunity with long term progression and stability?

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established engineering team in Manchester, offering long-term stability, investment in training, and the chance to apply your expertise maintaining heavy vehicles and industrial equipment.

What will I be doing?

As a Skilled Fitter, you will be working on heavy vehicles, supporting regular maintenance activities as part of a specialist team. You will be using a variety of specialist tools and equipment and will be someone that enjoys hands‑on work. Our client is open to any previous engineering background, providing you are practical and solutions driven with a passion for hands on engineering work.

You will be working on a rotating shift pattern, of earlies and lates. The depot operates 24/7, 365 days a year. Candidates therefore must be flexible on working hours and able to commit to their rosters 4‑6 weeks in advance. Weekend work may arise – this is paid at an enhanced rate and Sundays are optional.

Additional Process Requirements

• Must complete a criminal convictions questionnaire as part of the application process
• Be able to pass a basic DBS
• Be able to pass a Drugs & Alcohol test
• Be able to pass a full rail medical – this will include checks on eyesight, hearing, mobility, blood pressure and general health
• Provide your Right to Work documents before deployment
