Job summary

Samworth Brothers is recruiting an Advanced Despatch Operative at our Leicester site. You will be part of the Despatch team ensuring products are picked, checked, packed and dispatched on time, while resolving day-to-day issues and supporting colleagues.

The role requires experience in despatch, warehousing or food production, with a strong eye for detail and proficiency with despatch equipment. Our team focuses on collaboration and continuous improvement.

• Ability to pick, check and pack products with accuracy.
• Confident using despatch or warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

• Pick and check products against orders.
• Check quantities, labels, dates and product codes.
• Pack products safely and to standard.
• Operate machinery and robots.
• Ensure orders are complete and ready on time.
• Move products using correct equipment.
• Load products onto vehicles safely.
• Complete despatch checks and records.
• Keep the despatch area clean, safe and tidy.
• Collaborate with Production, Stores, Intake and other teams.

About The Role

As anAdvanced Despatch Operative, you will be responsible for working as a skilled member of the Despatch team in a busy food production site. You will make sure products are picked, checked, packed, and ready to leave the site on time. You will use your skills and experience to deal with day-to-day issues and support other team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick and check products against orders
• Check quantities, labels, dates, and product codes
• Pack products safely and to the right standard
• Operate machinery and robots
• Make sure orders are complete and ready on time
• Move products safely using the correct equipment
• Load products onto vehicles safely and correctly
• Complete Despatch checks and records
• Keep the Despatch area clean, safe, and tidy
• Work closely with Production, Stores, Intake, and other teams
