Job summary

Sizewell C Company is offering an Industrial Placement in Project Management based in our London office for a 12-month period. You will work with experienced project managers, engineers and technical specialists to turn plans into delivery on a major engineering project.

You will gain hands-on experience, build industry knowledge and develop professional skills while at university, with supervision and learning support throughout the placement.

Qualifications

• Currently studying towards a relevant degree that includes or develops interest in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Technology or other technical/project-focused subjects.
• Demonstrates curiosity, motivation and readiness to learn in a hands-on placement.
• Willingness to work in a multidisciplinary project environment and develop professional skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Engineering & Technical teams with planning and coordination of project activities.
• Monitor programme milestones, risks, issues and actions; support project reporting.
• Provide clear information to help teams make informed decisions.
• Work with engineers and specialists to understand project requirements, dependencies and interfaces.
• Coordinate with teams and stakeholders across a large, multidisciplinary project.
• Support meetings, workshops and project reviews, tracking actions through to completion.

If you are looking to kick-start a rewarding career where you can really make a difference, come and join our Nuclear Island team on an Industrial Placement in Project Management within our Engineering & Technical discipline, in our London office.

You will work on one of the most exciting and significant sustainable energy projects our country has ever seen at the forefront of the UK’s climate change agenda and energy policy. Sizewell C is a nuclear new-build project in Suffolk. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for at least 60 years.

Taking on a real role at a junior level, you’ll learn through hands-on experience under the guidance of highly skilled and experienced colleagues.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll work alongside experienced project managers, engineers and technical specialists, helping teams turn plans into delivery. From coordinating activities and tracking progress to understanding technical requirements, risks and interfaces, you’ll see first‑hand how effective project management supports the successful delivery of major engineering projects.

This is an opportunity to develop valuable professional skills, build your industry knowledge and make a meaningful contribution while you’re still at university.

Who we’re looking for:

Over the course of this 12‑month programme, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in hands‑on learning, working on real‑world challenges that directly impact the Nuclear Industry.

During your placement, you could be involved in:

• Supporting Project Managers and Engineering & Technical teams with the planning and coordination of project activities.

You’ll ideally be:

You should be currently studying towards a relevant degree that includes, or has developed an interest in, areas such as:
