Overview

GE Aerospace Wales is seeking an accomplished and visionary Site Training Leader to shape and drive the site's training and development strategy. This pivotal role is integral to fostering employee growth, meeting dynamic business needs, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards in the aerospace industry. As a key leader, you will oversee a team of talented professionals, including direct reports focusing on People Development, Technical Training, Early Careers & Leadership development. Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Inspire, lead, and develop a high-performing team of training professionals, ensuring their efforts align with the site's Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) priorities.
  • Training Strategy Development: Craft and implement innovative, future-focused training programmes that address employee development, business objectives, and regulatory requirements, while embedding FLIGHT DECK principles.
  • Leadership & People Development: Design and implement comprehensive leadership and people development programmes tailored to meet the evolving needs of the business. These programmes will focus on building leadership capabilities, enhancing employee development, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify skill gaps, create succession planning strategies, and ensure the organisation is equipped to meet future challenges.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all training meet the highest standards of compliance with aerospace industry regulations and requirements.
  • Driving Continuous Improvement: Champion a culture of innovation and operational excellence by leveraging lean methodologies to enhance training processes and outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with site leadership, HR, and other key stakeholders to ensure training initiatives are aligned with broader business priorities and objectives.
  • Resource Optimisation: Strategically manage budgets and resources to deliver impactful and cost-effective training solutions.
Qualifications
  • Proven leadership experience in training, learning, and development, ideally within aerospace, manufacturing, or similarly complex industries.
  • Expertise in designing and delivering training programmes that meet business, employee, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in managing teams and overseeing early careers programmes, with a focus on talent development and succession planning.
  • Strong knowledge of lean principles; familiarity with GE Aerospace's FLIGHT DECK methodology is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organisation.
  • Strategic mindset with outstanding organisational and resource management capabilities.
