Job summary

Ground Control Geotechnical Solutions is seeking a reliable Driver/Store Person to support depot and site teams by managing transport, storage and distribution of equipment and materials. The role blends driving, stock control and logistics, requiring hands-on, organised work across a varied day.

You will drive to project sites, unload safely, manage stock records and assist with site mobilisation. A valid UK licence and experience in similar roles are desirable; forklift tasks and safety

Qualifications

• Valid UK driving licence with clean record, Category B minimum; Category C preferred.
• Experience in driving, stores or logistics within construction, geotechnical or groundwork is desirable.
• Experience handling and transporting heavy equipment safely.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to perform minor equipment maintenance.
• Good understanding of manual handling and safe lifting practices.
• Reliable, punctual and proactive attitude.
• Able to work closely with site and depot teams.
• Flexible and adaptable to a varied workload.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicles to deliver tools, equipment and materials to project sites.
• Load and unload deliveries safely using manual handling techniques and forklifts where required.
• Complete vehicle pre-use and post-use checks and report defects.
• Receive, check and record deliveries against purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate stock records and perform regular inventory checks.
• Organise and safely store tools, materials and equipment at the depot.
• Ensure equipment returned from site is checked, cleaned and stored correctly.
• Carry out basic maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
• Support site mobilisation and demobilisation by coordinating equipment and materials.
• Work with site teams to understand and respond to equipment and material requirements.
• Arrange urgent deliveries to support site operations.
• Assist with setting up and dismantling temporary site stores.
• Follow all HSE, manual handling and transport requirements.
• Keep depot, vehicles and storage areas clean, organised and safe.
