Job summary

Rullion is recruiting for an on-site wiring role across multiple UK sites. The candidate will wire protection and control systems for transmission, distribution and generation projects, reading diagrams and wiring schedules to exact specifications.

Applicants should have at least 1 year site-based experience, be prepared to travel and work away, hold a full UK driving licence, and comply with BPSS checks. The role is on-site with some potential for hybrid/remote elements depending on project

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a site-based wire person.
• Experience of E, C & I installation (Substation control systems or protection systems).
• Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams, assembly prints, wiring schedules and parts lists.
• Must be prepared to travel and work away at customer sites.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Assemble and wire electrical protection and control systems using drawings, parts lists and specs.

Responsibilities

• Wiring of protection and control systems on transmission, distribution and power generation stations.
• Mechanical assembly of cubicles, framework, cable tray/ladder racking and desks.
• Assist hardware team with building and testing of test rigs and with ITP check sheets.
• Coordinate with Site Manager/Supervisor and engineers to resolve issues on site.

Location: UK Wide – Head office in Stone, Staffordshire

Full Site Based/Hybrid/Remote Working: On site 5 days per week – Multiple sites across the UK

Hours of work: Up to 40 hours per week

• You will be primarily responsible for the on-site wiring of protection systems and control systems for transmission, distribution and power generation station projects.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

• Have a Minimum 1-year experience of being a Site based wire person
• Experience of E, C & I installation (Substation Control Systems, Protections systems or similar)
• Able to read and interpret circuit diagrams, general assembly prints, wiring schedules and parts lists.
• Must be prepared to travel and work away at customer sites
• Full UK Driving License.
• The assembly and wiring of electrical protection systems and control systems for transmission of varying size and complexity using drawings, parts lists, and specifications. This shall include cable installations and terminations, glanding and termination of paired and multicore cables, Copper, and FO communications cables as necessary.
• Mechanical assembly of cubicles, framework, cable tray/ladder racking and desks.
• Assist with the hardware team with building and testing of the test rigs.
• Assist with ITP check sheets with the site Supervisor / Manager
• Updating issue logs and communicating directly with responsible Site Manager/supervisor, design, or commissioning engineers to resolve issues identified.
• Equipment builds and configuration inspection, LVD electrical safety checks, Earth bond continuity test, point to point wiring checks, High voltage withstand test, Insulation resistance test, Power up, fusing and equipment functionality checks.
