Job summary

Rullion Ltd. seeks a Site Technician for permanent on-site work across the UK. You will wire protection and control systems for critical infrastructure on transmission, distribution and power generation projects, with travel to customer sites as required.

Minimum 1 year of site wiring experience, ability to read diagrams and wiring schedules, and a full UK driving licence are essential. BPSS/UK Vetting will be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year on-site wire person experience.
• Experience in E, C & I installation (substation control or protections).
• Able to read and interpret circuit diagrams, wiring schedules and parts lists.
• Willing to travel and work away at customer sites.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• The assembly and wiring of protection and control systems per drawings and specs.
• UK National Security Vetting status; BPSS required.

Responsibilities

• Assist hardware team with building and testing test rigs.
• Update issue logs and communicate with site Manager/supervisor and engineers to resolve issues.

• Head office in Stone, Staffordshire Full Site Based/Hybrid/Remote Working: On site 5 days per week
• Multiple sites across the UK Hours of work: Up to 40 hours per week Role information:

• You will be primarily responsible for the on-site wiring of protection systems and control systems for transmission, distribution and power generation station projects.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

• Have a Minimum 1-year experience of being a Site based wire person
• Experience of E, C & I installation (Substation Control Systems, Protections systems or similar)
• Able to read and interpret circuit diagrams, general assembly prints, wiring schedules and parts lists.
• Must be prepared to travel and work away at customer sites
• Full UK Driving License.
• The assembly and wiring of electrical protection systems and control systems for transmission of varying size and complexity using drawings, parts lists, and specifications.
• This shall include cable installations and terminations, glanding and termination of paired and multicore cables, Copper, and FO communications cables as necessary.
• Mechanical assembly of cubicles, framework, cable tray/ladder racking and desks.
• Assist with the hardware team with building and testing of the test rigs.
• Assist with ITP check sheets with the site Supervisor / Manager
• Updating issue logs and communicating directly with responsible Site Manager/supervisor, design, or commissioning engineers to resolve issues identified.
• Equipment builds and configuration inspection, LVD electrical safety checks, Earth bond continuity test, point to point wiring checks, High voltage withstand test, Insulation resistance test, Power up, fusing and equipment functionality checks.
• UK National Security Vetting Status
• BPSS Required for this role
