Job summary

Wright Engineering seeks an experienced Site Surveyor for a full-time, permanent position based primarily in North London, with UK-wide travel as required. The successful candidate will work closely with site management, engineers and installation teams to set out equipment, verify dimensions and maintain rigorous survey records.

The role requires proven experience with total stations and precision surveying tools, a solid grasp of levels, datums and benchmarks, and the ability to report

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Site Surveyor in mechanical engineering, construction or industrial projects.
• Experience using total stations and precision surveying equipment.
• Strong understanding of levels, datums and benchmarks and how to apply them on site.
• Ability to identify discrepancies and communicate technical issues clearly.
• Excellent record-keeping and documentation of survey data.

Responsibilities

• Set out mechanical equipment, structural steelwork, supports and installations using scale drawings.
• Operate precision surveying equipment including total stations.
• Establish and check control points, datums, levels and benchmarks.
• Carry out dimensional checks and surveys of installed works.
• Create as-built surveys and submit survey reports per client requirements.
• Identify and report discrepancies between drawings, coordinates and site conditions.
• Coordinate with site management, engineers and installation teams on setting-out needs.
• Maintain accurate, traceable survey records throughout the works.
• Support the project team with surveying and dimensional control as needed.
