Site Supervisor

Salary: £31,235 - £39,044 per annum

Hours: Mon - Fri 8am–5pm, plus 1 in 4 Saturdays (7am - 12pm), averaging 46.25 hours per week

Location: Costessey, NR5 0TL

As a Site Supervisor at FCC Environment, you will play a key role in overseeing the safe, efficient, and compliant day-to-day operations of our site. You will be responsible for ensuring high standards of health and safety, environmental compliance, customer service, and operational performance.

This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week (plus 1 in 4 Saturdays, 7am - 12pm).

What will you be doing?
  • Supervising day-to-day site operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of site operatives, managing performance, and supporting their development.
  • Operating plant and equipment safely and ensuring all machinery is maintained to required standards.
  • Managing traffic and pedestrian safety in line with the site’s Traffic Management Plan.
  • Monitoring incoming and outgoing waste, including inspection, validation, and documentation.
  • Maintaining accurate records and site administration to ensure full compliance with permits and Duty of Care regulations.
  • Providing excellent customer service and dealing with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Deputising for the Contract Manager as required.
What are we looking for?
  • Experience working in waste management, logistics, transport, or maintenance in a supervisory role.
  • Strong health and safety awareness with experience working in safety-critical environments.
  • Knowledge of operating heavy plant and machinery.
  • Leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and mentor others.
  • Good communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literacy and experience with weighbridge systems (desirable).
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and excellent timekeeping.
