Job description
Job Overview

We're looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to join our Transportation team in Brixworth, Northamptonshire. In this role, you'll help deliver a diverse range of local authority civil engineering projects for Kier on behalf of West Northamptonshire Council. If you're an enthusiastic professional with a proven track record in supervising all aspects of on‑site maintenance and improvement schemes, we'd love to hear from you.

As a Site Supervisor, you'll oversee minor works and support projects involving footway reconstruction, carriageway resurfacing, surface treatments, drainage upgrades, traffic signal installations, and structural repairs. This role requires experience working on live public highways, a strong commitment to a people‑first approach to safety and ensuring full compliance with all relevant SHEQ processes and procedures. Your day‑to‑day will include:

Responsibilities
  • Managing and administering the construction works in accordance with the contract
  • Assisting with the implementation of the duties of the Principal Contractor under CDM
  • Issuing various permits for activities such as hot works and digging for various contractors in accordance with Kier processes and safe digging procedure
  • Ensuring temporary works are installed in accordance with the approved design details
  • Carrying out regular Health and Safety inspections, reporting all accidents, near misses and briefing of toolbox talks
Qualifications
  • SSSTS (CITB Supervisors Safety Training Scheme) or SMSTS (Site Management Safety Trainings Scheme)
  • NRSWA Supervisor
  • 12D Lantra Traffic Management
  • Temporary Works Supervisor
  • Understanding and implementation of the Construction (Design Management) CDM regulations
  • Knowledge of the Chapter 8 Traffic Signs Manual
  • Understanding of NEC4 contract
