Job summary

Network Plus seeks a Site Supervisor for its Thames department in Kidlington. You will lead Developer Services teams, organise labour and resources, and ensure safe, on-time, on-budget delivery that meets client expectations.

You will drive quality and continuous improvement, including capturing accurate works data and supporting regulatory measures such as D-MeX in collaboration with Thames Water.

Qualifications

• Supervisory credentials relevant to Developer Services work.
• Health & Safety qualification is advantageous.
• Depth of excavation knowledge and practical experience.
• Strong management and leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Financial and commercial awareness for project delivery.
• Proficient IT skills including Excel and Word.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.

Responsibilities

• Have operational supervisory responsibility for a designated group of Developer Services teams and their daily activities.
• Organise labour in a cost-effective way, including recruitment, disciplinary actions, wages and absence management.
• Manage all other resources such as materials and plant.
• Ensure accurate information is captured of works undertaken, including photographs.
• Visit teams at local site level, reviewing progress and performance and ensuring standards.
• Carry out monthly team briefings, coaching and developing teams to reach potential.
• Complete team inspections to ensure high compliance and quality and right-first-time delivery.
• Act as Health & Safety representative, carrying inspections and reporting incidents.

Compensation: GBP 40,000 - GBP 45,000 / year

Description

As a Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for local operational teams who deliver the day to day aspects of mains laying and new suppliers to developers of all types and sizes.

You will supervise the teams - ensuring that the work is delivered safely on time, within budget and to our client's expectations. You will provide operational management - ensuing that the work is delivered safely on time, within budget and to our Client's expectations.

In addition to Health and Safety, customer service is critical to our work. You will ensure that work is carried out in a manner, which builds the confidence of developers and adopts a 'right first time' approach. Recognising developers have paid for mains laying and new supplies to their site / property, you will work with the relevant teams to ensure programmes are managed and delivered accordingly.

Satisfaction of developers is measured through a new regulatory measure called D-MeX. You will work closely with Thames Water to influence a dramatic improvement in the D-MeX measure and show management skills to genuinely care about the ratings Developers give of Network Plus's services.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out team briefings with teams on a monthly basis; coaching and developing operational teams to reach their potential
• Complete Team Inspections ensuring a high level of Compliance with a real focus on quality and right first-time operational delivery
• Be a Health & Safety Representative; undertaking health & safety inspections in and around the workplace, raising health & safety related matters with management and investigating reportable accidents or incidents as and when they occur

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Relevant qualifications in relation to the work being carried out i.e. NRWSA at supervisory level
• Health & Safety qualification would be an advantage
• Deep Excavation knowledge and experience
• Good management skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Financial and commercial awareness
• Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
• Full UK Driving Licence
