Job summary

Barnsole Primary School in Hale is seeking a committed Site Supervisor to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. This role focuses on day‑to‑day site operations, minor repairs, and presentation of grounds and buildings.

You will work with our Estates team to ensure health and safety compliance, coordinate contractor activity, and help set up spaces for school events, with 20 hours per week on a permanent, year‑round basis.

Qualifications

  • Experience in site management, caretaking, facilities or building maintenance.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
  • Practical, organised and able to work independently.
  • Pride in maintaining high standards across buildings and grounds.
  • Able to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Strong communication with staff, contractors and visitors.
  • Flexible and willing to undertake a variety of tasks.
  • IT literate and confident using Microsoft and Google systems.
  • Experience with CAFM systems or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Support the safe and efficient operation of the school site.

Join Barnsole Primary School as a Site Supervisor!

Hours: 20 hours per week, 4 hours per day (either split across the morning and afternoon or worked in one block)
Contract: Permanent
Full Year Role: 52 weeks per year
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: Medway D2 (4-11) £13,613.46 - £15,211.83 Actual Salary

Barnsole Primary School is seeking a committed Site Supervisor to play a key role in ensuring our school remains safe, secure and well-maintained for pupils, staff and visitors.

Working closely with the Regional Estates Manager and wider school team, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the school site, helping to create an environment where children can learn, grow and succeed.

In this role, you will:
