Job summary

Mabey Hire is seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to lead steel erector teams on customer sites across the UK, ensuring installations are delivered safely and to the highest standards. This hands-on role requires strong leadership, good communication and a focus on SHEQ compliance.

You'll manage resources, interpret drawings, coordinate with Site Managers and Project Engineers, and ensure works meet programme deadlines and client requirements.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 4 Diploma in Construction & Civil Engineering.
• Supervisory experience in a construction environment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Lift Supervisor experience for plant lifts.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to work at height.

Responsibilities

• Supervising site resources and direct labour teams to ensure projects are completed safely and on time.
• Providing daily direction and support to Steel Erectors on site.
• Ensuring all construction activities comply with company SHEQ requirements.
• Taking responsibility for the care and use of company vehicles and tools.
• Liaising with Site Managers, Project Engineers and customers to maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with construction drawings and agreed timescales.

We are looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to join our team. This is a hands‑on role where you'll supervise teams of steel erectors on customer sites, ensuring installations are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

What you'll be doing

As a Site Supervisor, you'll play a key role in the successful delivery of our Total Solutions projects, ensuring works are completed in line with customer requirements, programme deadlines and company SHEQ standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising site resources and direct labour teams to ensure projects are completed safely and on time.
• Providing daily direction and support to Steel Erectors on site.
• Ensuring all construction activities comply with company SHEQ requirements.
• Taking responsibility for the care and use of company vehicles and tools.
• Liaising with Site Managers, Project Engineers and customers to maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with construction drawings and agreed timescales.

What we're looking for

We're seeking a motivated and safety‑conscious construction professional with strong leadership skills and experience supervising teams on site.

You’ll ideally have:

• NVQ Level 4 Diploma in Construction & Civil Engineering.
• Previous supervisory experience within a construction environment.
• The ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Lift Supervisor experience for plant lifts.
• Experience within Civil Engineering or Construction.
• A full UK Driving Licence.
• The ability to work at height.

Desirable:

• Temporary Works industry experience.
• Knowledge of construction industry procedures.
• Experience working on petrochemical or nuclear sites.
