Job description

About the role

Amazing infrastructure isn’t the only thing that gets built here. Incredible careers do too. Join our Enabling Functions team as a Site Setup Delivery Manager in Newcastle upon Tyne and build something to be proud of.

Please note this role will require frequent travel across the North East and occasionally across the UK and BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) is an essential requirement for this role. Candidates must pass a BPSS check to be considered.

You’ll be responsible for planning, coordinating and managing the end-to-end delivery of site setup projects, from the initial tender stage through to live operation, site moves, major changes and eventual decommissioning.

Working closely with customers and key stakeholders, you’ll turn business requirements into clear, practical technical delivery plans, ensuring IT solutions are implemented effectively, on time and in line with agreed standards.

You’ll also play a key role in driving standardisation, managing costs, identifying dependencies and mitigating risks, while keeping delivery aligned with customer deadlines and wider business objectives.

What you’ll be doing
  • Take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of site setup projects, developing realistic plans and ensuring projects are delivered to agreed timescales, budgets, quality standards and business outcomes.
  • Translate customer and business requirements into practical, fit-for-purpose technical solutions, using your understanding of IT infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, telephony and associated technologies.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts and costs, securing the appropriate approvals and providing accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Coordinate internal teams, third-party suppliers, budget holders and stakeholders, ensuring the right resources are available and delivery remains on track.
  • Manage projects within a fast-paced, high-volume environment, proactively identifying and resolving potential delays, risks, issues and dependencies.
  • Monitor supplier performance, ensuring commitments are met and any issues are addressed and escalated appropriately.
  • Maintain effective project plans and reporting, providing clear updates on progress, finances, resources, risks and overall delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders, communicating technical information in a clear and straightforward way and keeping customer requirements at the heart of delivery.
  • Promote standardised solutions and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance ways of working.
  • Support a collaborative and accountable culture, sharing best practice and contributing to continuous improvement across site setup delivery.
Who we’re looking for

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience delivering site setup projects, including budget management, supplier coordination and resource scheduling.
  • Experience using PRINCE2 or other recognised project management methodologies.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure delivery, particularly LAN/WAN services.
  • A proactive, results-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver against deadlines.
  • Experience translating customer and business requirements into practical technical solutions that provide quality and value.
