Job summary

Blackstone is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join its Site Reliability Engineering team in London. You will drive reliability across platforms, implement observability and automation, and work with development teams to prevent incidents.

Ideal candidates have strong AWS experience, Docker/Kubernetes, and hands-on scripting in Python or C#. You will participate in on-call rotations and contribute to postmortems to improve systems.

Qualifications

• Ability to write automation scripts and read/troubleshoot code (Python, C#, Typescript).
• Experience with coding assistants and AI tools for development workflows.
• Strong AWS experience; Azure experience preferred.
• Infrastructure as code and CI/CD tooling (Terraform, Puppet, Gitlab CI).
• Hands-on with Docker and container schedulers (AWS ECS & EKS).
• Excellent troubleshooting of Linux, Windows, and networking.
• Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk).
• Calm under pressure with incident management and postmortems.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership in adopting SRE methodologies across the firm.
• Incorporate observability standards into code and deployment pipelines.
• Evolve SRE standards across teams.
• Partner with colleagues to improve service reliability and efficiency.
• Assist developers directly and through AI assistants.
• Implement instrumentation and provide performance insights to service owners.
• Ensure monitoring and alerting reflect service reliability for users.
• Implement strategic observability tools and control maintenance costs.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents.
• Use automation to manage, maintain, and scale SRE systems.
• Foster a blameless culture and contribute to postmortems.
