Job summary

Millbank Holdings Ltd is seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to develop, operate, and monitor contract programmes for large-scale projects in the Petrochemical, Power, or Process Industries. You will produce detailed project schedules and report progress to clients and management.

The role requires resolving critical path issues, optimizing resource planning, and maintaining Earned Value performance, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and on-budget delivery.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in assisting or training as a Planning Engineer.
  • Extensive experience within Petrochemical, Power, or Process Industry sectors.
  • Expert ability in producing feasible programmes from project scope.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluency in Primavera P6 and Excel.
  • Awareness of safety, quality, and cost implications related to planning.

Responsibilities

  • Produce all necessary programmes reflecting contract requirements.
  • Monitor and update contract programmes through discussions with relevant parties.
  • Predict and communicate critical path deviations to enable management to take corrective action.
  • Optimise use of computer software packages to ensure accountabilities are met.
  • Incorporate emergent works effectively into existing programmes.
  • Report progress against programme on a regular basis and record any delays with reasoning.
  • Incorporate programme variations.
  • Programme report to client/management.
  • Anticipate problem areas regarding critical paths and advise remedial action.
  • Allocate the estimate costs to the activities on the programme and assist in baselining of the programme.
  • Development and communication of resource requirements necessary to meet the demands of the project timescales.

The Role

As a Planning Engineer, you will develop, operate, and monitor contract programmes to ensure projects are controlled and executed within budget and timeline expectations. Your responsibilities include producing detailed project schedules, continuously analysing programme performance, incorporating variations, and reporting progress to clients and management. You will anticipate critical path issues and advise on remedial actions, optimise resource planning, and analyse Earned Value Performance. This role requires close communication with all relevant parties to keep the project on track and adapt plans as necessary.

Your duties and responsibilities will be
