Site Operations Manager – Days or Nights

The site is a busy operational manufacturing operation that requires a very hands‑on, dynamic approach. Product Quality and Customer satisfaction are at the heart of what we do and the ability to respond quickly and effectively in a calm manner is essential.

You will work closely with other sites to develop and implement systems and procedures that drive operational success.

We require experienced candidates who can demonstrate success in a fast‑paced environment. You will possess excellent core management skills and have the ability to communicate at all levels. The sites need to be audit‑ready at all times and therefore attention to detail, planning and organisation are critical prerequisites to be successful in this role.

The Ideal candidate will have a leadership style that maintains a motivated and successful workforce.

Reporting to the General Manager you will provide exceptional leadership to an operational team covering production, planning, engineering, health & safety and hygiene. Indirect team of over 100. The sites operate 24/7 and therefore some out‑of‑hours support where issues arise.

Role

Reporting to the General Manager you will be responsible for

  • Full site ownership – Audits, Health & Safety, external visitors
  • Production and production planning
  • People and performance management of your direct reports
  • Engineering
  • Process development, technical and hygiene
  • Despatch and stores
  • Cost control
  • Directing and co‑ordinating activities

  • Factory based manufacturing experience
  • Have the potential to drive the site’s success
  • Have a background from production and health & safety
  • BRC (British Retail Consortium) audits
