Job summary

Biffa Group in Irlam is seeking an experienced Transfer Station Manager to lead our Manchester operation, ensuring a safe, compliant, and efficient site that delivers excellent service to customers.

You will oversee day-to-day performance, develop your team, drive improvements in productivity and profitability, and own the site P&L while working with regional management to meet growth targets.

Qualifications

• COTC qualification is essential.
• IOSH Certificate required.
• Experience in operations leadership roles.
• Experience managing site P&L and budgets.
• Experience in health & safety management.
• Strong commercial awareness with understanding of transport/logistics.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day performance of the transfer station.
• Manage site P&L and budgets.
• Develop and coach the on-site team.
• Drive productivity, service levels and cost control.
• Ensure health & safety compliance and governance.
• Collaborate with regional management on growth opportunities.
