Job summary

Highfield Professional Solutions Ltd is recruiting for Mechanical Fitters/Technicians to support engineering and building operations at a major site in Culham, Abingdon. This long-term, site-based role offers up to £35 per hour Umbrella and is Inside IR35.

The position requires practical, hands-on mechanical fitting experience and the ability to work safely in a regulated environment. BPSS eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Experience as Mechanical Fitter/Technician or similar.
• Hands-on mechanical fitting experience.
• Experience using hand tools and mechanical equipment.
• Experience in engineering/manufacturing/construction/workshop environments.
• Nuclear or highly regulated industry experience desirable.
• BPSS clearance or eligible to obtain BPSS.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers and technicians with daily mechanical activities.
• Carry out basic mechanical assembly, fitting and dismantling.
• Prepare work areas, tools, materials and equipment.
• Use hand tools and machinery safely.
• Move and position equipment and materials.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organised working environment.
• Follow site procedures and safety requirements.
• Report hazards or maintenance issues to supervisors.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians and site personnel.
