Job Description Summary

Are you ready to lead the infrastructure projects powering the energy transition?

We are seeking a proactive Site Manager to join our Power Conversion team. In this role, you will be the technical and operational heartbeat of our industrial projects, leading field teams and ensuring the successful delivery of complex electrification systems. If you are a collaborative leader who thrives on site and takes pride in operational excellence, we invite you to help us build a more sustainable future.

Job Description

What You Will Accomplish

As a key member of our project teams from the FEED stage through to completion, you will oversee site execution and tendering activities for major energy projects:

  • Champion Safety and Quality: Uphold our unwavering commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. You will proactively prepare safety documentation, support the management of risks and the development of all site method statements, perform quality inspections, and ensure all contractors meet our high performance and safety benchmarks.
  • Lead Project Planning: Shape the success of our projects by coordinating site scheduling, estimating costs for installation work, and planning infrastructure requirements during the tender phase.
  • Drive Execution: Manage the mobilization of site teams, oversee construction progress, and ensure that our "Construction Operating Rhythm" is consistently applied across all project sites.
  • Collaborate and Communicate: Act as a bridge between design offices and site teams, ensuring data flows efficiently and that stakeholders are kept informed through accurate, timely progress reporting, including the coordination of costing and scheduling for electromechanical installation works.
  • Manage Field Operations: Take ownership of site budgets and staffing plans, ensuring that our technical solutions are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tender Phase (ITO): Coordinate costing, scheduling, and tender documentation for electromechanical installation and site infrastructure.
  • Execution Phase (OTR): Drive project delivery by managing site teams, staffing plans, and contractor progress against budget and schedule.
  • HSE Leadership: Champion GE Vernova’s rigorous Health, Safety, and Environmental (EHS) standards across all sites.
  • Quality & Risk Management: Monitor key construction milestones, enforce quality compliance, and manage risks and opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Partner with design, engineering, and site construction teams to maintain operational rhythm and deliver timely monthly reports.
  • Travel: Ability to travel frequently and for extended periods to customer project sites (primarily within the UK)

The Value You Will Bring

You are a natural leader with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for electrical engineering. You excel in fast-paced, site-based environments where clear communication and rigorous planning are essential. Your ability to anticipate challenges, manage complex contractor relationships, and mentor team members ensures that every project not only meets its technical goals but also fosters a culture of safety and operational excellence

What You Need to Succeed

We are looking for someone who brings significant experience in managing site operations for large-scale electrical installations.

  • Relevant degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or significant relevant experience in a Mechanical/Electrical trade environment focusing on site management.
  • NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction or similar.
  • Computer literacy with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Primavera P6, Excel, and MS Project applications.
  • Demonstrable experience of working with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) and a valid SMSTS certification.
  • Previous experience of undertaking the role of a Construction/Site Manager on a medium- or large-scale installation project (or similar).
  • Familiarity with the oversight of installation and commissioning of equipment, such as rotating machines, coolers, lubrication systems (HP & LP), transformers, and MV/LV switchgear.
  • Significant experience in managing budgets, time constraints, and resourcing of projects, along with the ability to demonstrate cross-functional communication between all parties (customer, OEM, and services management).
  • Experience of commissioning MV/LV rotating electrical systems and associated auxiliary equipment. Valid passport and driver’s license.
