Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead a school construction project in Leicester. You will oversee daily site operations, coordinate subcontractors and trades, and ensure delivery to the required specification within a live school environment.

The role requires strong communication, robust health and safety knowledge, and the ability to manage the programme while safeguarding pupils and staff. A proactive, detail-focused attitude is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Site Manager on construction projects.
• Experience on live education or school environments is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements within construction.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day running of the construction site.
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades and site operatives.
• Ensure works are carried out safely and in RAMS compliance.
• Maintain site security and safe segregation from school operations.
• Coordinate deliveries, access, plant, materials and labour.
• Monitor progress against the programme and liaise with stakeholders.
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks and safety inspections.
• Maintain accurate daily records and site documentation.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure quality standards.
• Identify and resolve issues to minimise disruption to the school.
• Manage snagging and assist with project completion and handover.
