Job description

Site Manager, (Ops2 NGED)

Contract, 6 months+

£400 to £450 per day outside IR35

You will be managing subcontractors in the delivery of substation construction project at from £100,000 to £multi million pound schemes,

• Understand the Company Health & Safety and Environmental (SHE) Policies and Processes
• Manage and direct compliance to CDM regulations on site.
• Lead and motivate a team of Sub-Contractors to deliver all aspects of planning and operations
• Maintaining accurate records of site resources, materials and plant.
• Produce reports in a timely manner
• To liaise with customers, clients, local authorities and other interested third parties
• To provide sufficient and timely supervision, assessment and coaching to ensure sub-contractors are performing to agreed production levels
• To ensure quality checks are complete
• To regularly undertake all necessary and appropriate Tool Box Talks, Briefings and other communications
• Promote best practice, capture best practice and ensure it is fed-back into the business.
• Responsible for overall QA / QC process adherence including Inspections and Test Plans

You will be qualified in

• NGED OPS2 (Operational Authorisation 2). It is a critical safety certification that enables a Site Manager to implement and manage the Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) on National Grid Electricity Distribution networks
• A number of year experience working within HV sector at 33kV or 132kV works.
• A varied knowledge of substation equipment from various Original Equipment Manufacturers.
• Knowledge of CDM 2015 (and ideally qualified in it).
• Competent on Excel or MS Project or Primavera P6
• Ability to lead and motivate people
• Must have commercial awareness and understand the effect of site based activities on the project financial performance.
• Full UK driving licence Required
• First Aid (Full 4 day) Required
• SMSTS Required
