Site Manager Civil Engineering & Infrastructure – South East

£60K‑£70K Package – Permanent. We are recruiting on behalf of a long‑established civil engineering contractor renowned for delivering complex infrastructure, coastal defence, and environmental schemes across the South East. With a reputation for technical excellence, collaborative working, and long‑term frameworks with public and private clients, they offer a well‑supported environment for experienced Site Managers to thrive. As Site Manager, you’ll take full responsibility for day‑to‑day site operations, ensuring safety, compliance, programme delivery, and team performance across all phases of the project lifecycle. You’ll be joining a business that values proactive leadership, structured processes, and a strong safety‑first culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe, clean, compliant site at all times.
  • Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, and training.
  • Produce and review RAMS, Lift Plans, Inspection & Test Plans.
  • Conduct weekly HSE inspections and manage incident reporting.
  • Manage plant, materials, and labour requisitions.
  • Update and issue 4‑week lookahead programmes.
  • Integrate subcontractor works and monitor progress with the planner.
  • Support valuations, variations, and final accounts with the QS.
  • Review subcontractor RAMS and procurement schedules.
  • Coordinate client inspections and handover documentation.
  • Engage with stakeholders, landowners, and utility providers.
  • Lead and motivate site teams, promoting collaboration and accountability.
Requirements
  • HND/C, BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering or NVQ Level 5/6 in Site Management.
  • CSCS Manager Card / Academically Qualified.
  • SMSTS, Temporary Works Coordinator, First Aid, Fire Warden CPCS Appointed Person (desirable).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Proven experience managing civils, groundworks, or coastal infrastructure projects.
