Job summary

A leading construction contractor in London is seeking an experienced Site Manager for a major refurbishment project. You will oversee all site activities, ensure quality standards, and manage subcontractors. Applicants must have a Black CSCS Card and prior experience with a Tier 1 contractor. This is an 8-week contract with a potential extension. Competitive rate of £320 per day offered.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with a Tier 1 fit out contractor is essential.
  • Black CSCS Card / Duty to Manage Asbestos / 1st Aid / Fire Marshal / SEATS / SMSTS needed.

The Company

This role is with one of the UK’s leading main contractors. They have an excellent reputation and build some of the country’s most iconic buildings. They are a diverse organisation covering most sectors of the built environment, and this specific role is within their fit out and refurbishment division. Projects range from £1 million to £100 million in the commercial, retail and public sectors.

The Role

We are looking for a Site Manager to join the team to work on a £30 million CAT A + CAT B workspace refurbishment scheme in Central London.

As part of the team your duties will include:

  • Oversee all site activities and monitor progress.
  • Monitor and inspect the quality of work to ensure high standards of work and HSQE are achieved.
  • Identify potential issues that will affect successful project delivery and take necessary action as appropriate.
  • Manage the performance of direct reports and sub‑contract labour, ensuring they are working safely and efficiently.
  • Responsible for the safety of the public when working in a live environment.
  • Co‑ordinate the activities of different sub‑contractors to ensure work is carried out efficiently and oversee performance to ensure work is completed on schedule and to the right standard.

To be considered for this role previous experience with a Tier 1 fit out contractor is essential.
