Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking a Site Manager on a permanent basis to join a tier 1 Main Contractor delivering a 250m arena, specifically to oversee the arena's dry-lining package in Cardiff. You will lead site teams, manage subcontractors, ensure safety, quality and programme delivery, and report to the Project Manager on progress and risks.

The project has around 2.5 years left and the regional Cardiff office supports future South Wales and Bristol work; excellent career progression and

• Experience as Site Manager on large build projects.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills.
• Ability to work to deadlines and budgets.

• Coordinate client liaison and reporting.
• Develop and monitor short term programmes and site logistics.

Job description

Site Manager required on a permanent basis to join on with a tier 1 Main Contractor to work on the delivery of a 250m new build arena, specifically to manage the arena's dry-lining package. This project has 2 & 1/2 years left to run before completion.

This contractor has set up a regional office in Cardiff and has a future pipeline of work in the South Wales & Bristol area's.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

• Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality procedures
• Subcontract Packages/sections of work
• Quality and delivery within budget and programme
• Client liaison and reporting
• Planning and designOverseeing Engineering/Quality/Record keeping
• Risk assessments and Method statements
• Manage site inductions
• Draw up and monitor short term programmes
• Organise site logistics
• Awareness of budget, cost control and cost recovery, ensuring that expenditure is in line with the contract budget, and that resources are utilised efficiently
• Monitor effectiveness of the H & S Management System
• Manage sub-contractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary, such that contractual arrangements are achieved
• Produce and regularly review the project programme to ensure completion on time under the supervision of a Project Manager
• Achieve quality/programme
• Ensure site audits are undertaken and take appropriate action on the findings

Skills and Abilities:

• Person management/organising labour
• Excellent team player and team leader, able to work competently and independently without supervision
• Ability to work under pressure to deadlines
• Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity
