About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee and coordinate construction activities on a high-security defence-related infrastructure project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of works on site, managing teams, subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with all company, safety, and client standards.

This position offers an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within a highly regulated environment, where attention to detail and adherence to process are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise day-to-day site operations, ensuring all works are completed safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.
  • Coordinate and monitor subcontractor performance, resolving issues to maintain programme and quality objectives.
  • Lead site inductions, toolbox talks, and ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Oversee material deliveries, plant, and labour resources efficiently to maintain progress.
  • Liaise with project managers, design teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment across all project phases.
  • Maintain accurate site records, reports, and documentation, including progress tracking and daily diaries.
  • Support and enforce company policies and procedures, including those relating to security and confidentiality.
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements applicable to secure environments.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Site Manager or Construction Supervisor on complex infrastructure, defence, or industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Sound knowledge of CDM Regulations and site safety practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple trades and subcontractors simultaneously.
  • Experience working in controlled or secure environments is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in MS Office and project management tools.
Qualifications
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) – essential
  • First Aid at Work – desirable
  • HNC/HND or degree in Construction Management or a related discipline – desirable
  • Active SC Clearance – essential
