Job summary

Walter Lilly, a premier heritage and science construction specialist, seeks a proactive Site Manager for a high-profile London-area project in Windlesham. You will lead day-to-day site operations, drive quality finishes, and ensure safety at all times on a landmark headquarters fit-out.

You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, manage subcontractors, and uphold Walter Lilly’s standards of excellence, integrity and delivery on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Site Manager or similar leadership role in commercial/office fit-out projects.
• Strong organisation and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors and maintain safety standards.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day site activities across office fit-out works.
• Ensure works are delivered safely and in line with project programmes.
• Oversee subcontractors, maintaining quality, productivity and compliance.
• Monitor progress and proactively resolve issues and delays.
• Conduct regular site inspections and maintain health, safety and environmental performance.
• Coordinate with project managers, commercial teams, consultants and subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate site records and reporting documentation.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive and driven Site Manager to join one of the UK's largest and most prestigious science construction projects, delivering a new headquarters facility for a leading pharmaceutical organisation in Windlesham.

The project is now entering an exciting phase, with a significant focus on the fit-out and finishing of high-quality office accommodation. Working closely with the wider project team, you will take ownership of day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the exceptional standards expected on a landmark development.

Key Responsibilies:

• Manage and coordinate day-to-day site activities across office fit-out works.
• Ensure works are delivered safely and in accordance with project programmes.
• Oversee subcontractors, ensuring quality, productivity and compliance standards are maintained.
• Monitor progress against programme and proactively resolve issues and delays.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks.Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental performance.
• Coordinate with project managers, commercial teams, consultants and subcontractors.
• Support effective communication across all stakeholders.
• Ensure works are completed to the required quality standards and client expectations.
• Maintain accurate site records and reporting documentation.

About You

You are an energetic and hands-on Site Manager who enjoys being part of a collaborative team and leading by example.

You'll bring:

• Previous experience as a Site Manager, Assistant Site Manager or similar site leadership role.
• Strong experience managing fit-out, interior or finishing works within commercial, office, science, healthcare or high-quality construction environments.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• The confidence to make decisions, challenge where necessary and drive progress on site.
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
• A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues and project objectives.
• A genuine commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications (or equivalent).

A driving licence would be beneficial due to the site location, although a shuttle service operates from the nearest railway station for those travelling by public transport.
