Job summary

Wates is seeking a Senior Site Manager for a major construction project in the UK. You will take ownership of the build programme, driving safe, high-quality delivery and coordinating activities across multiple fronts.

You will manage subcontractors, maintain safety and quality standards, and mentor site personnel while ensuring on-time programme delivery. Prevailing industry experience and relevant qualifications are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of building regulations, construction methodologies and health and safety legislation.
• Experience managing multiple subcontract packages simultaneously.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you'll take ownership of key elements of the build programme, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards of quality.,

• Leading day-to-day site operations on a major construction project.
• Ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.
• Managing subcontractors and supply chain partners.
• Maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and quality.
• Coordinating construction activities across multiple work fronts.
• Supporting programme delivery and identifying opportunities to mitigate risks.
• Building strong relationships with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Mentoring and developing Site Managers, Engineers and emerging talent within the team. We're looking for a strong operational leader with experience delivering complex construction projects within a similar contracting environment.

You’ll ideally have:

• Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of building regulations, construction methodologies and health and safety legislation.
• Experience managing multiple subcontract packages simultaneously.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and programme delivery.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
