Service Care Solutions are recruiting an experienced Site Manager to work in a school in the Washington, Sunderland area. You will manage day-to-day operations to keep the site safe, secure and well maintained.

The role involves coordinating maintenance, liaising with contractors, ensuring health and safety compliance, and supporting cleaning and facilities staff to provide a welcoming environment for pupils and staff.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in site, premises, facilities or building management.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety and general building compliance.
  • Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance works.
  • Practical maintenance and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Take day-to-day responsibility for the security, maintenance and general upkeep of the school premises and grounds.
  • Carry out regular inspections of buildings, facilities and external areas, identifying defects, hazards and maintenance requirements.
  • Coordinate and oversee reactive and planned maintenance works.
  • Liaise with contractors and external suppliers, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
  • Monitor the condition of the site and arrange repairs where required.
  • Support compliance with Health & Safety, fire safety, COSHH and other relevant legislation and school policies.
  • Carry out routine checks of fire safety equipment, alarms, emergency lighting, water systems and other site facilities.
  • Maintain appropriate records relating to inspections, maintenance, compliance and contractors.
  • Manage site security, including opening and closing the school premises and responding to security issues when required.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and presentation of internal and external areas, working closely with cleaning and facilities staff.
  • Manage waste and recycling arrangements and ensure appropriate disposal procedures are followed.
  • Assist with room setups, events and other activities taking place across the school.
  • Monitor and manage site-related budgets, stock, supplies and equipment where required.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, incidents and urgent maintenance issues.
  • Develop positive working relationships with school staff, pupils, contractors, visitors and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure all contractors and visitors comply with relevant site procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Undertake practical maintenance and minor repairs where appropriate and within your level of competence.
  • Support the school leadership team with facilities-related projects and improvements.
  • Promote a safe, secure and welcoming environment across the school.

SITE MANAGER – SCHOOL Environment

Location: Washington, Sunderland Hours: 36 hours per week Contract: Temporary / Ongoing Pay: £19 per hour PAYE | £24.35 per hour Umbrella Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to work within a school in the Washington, Sunderland area.

THE ROLE

As Site Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the school provides a safe, secure, clean and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff and visitors. ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working as a Site Manager, Facilities Manager, Caretaker, Premises Manager or similar role , preferably within a school, education, public sector or commercial environment.

You should have:

  • Previous experience in site, premises, facilities or building management.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety and general building compliance.
  • Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance works.
  • Practical maintenance and problem-solving skills.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
