The successful candidate will lead and organise, on a daily basis, a team of experienced Site Assistants to ensure a safe, efficient and effective learning and working environment for students and staff.

This position would suit someone with previous site management experience (experience within a school setting would be desirable) and knowledge of establishing and overseeing repairs and maintenance programmes. You will be a key part of our wider Estates team, responsible for building maintenance and ensuring high standards of compliance are maintained, liaising with contractors and supporting longer‑term development plans.

The successful candidate will be responsible for Site department health and safety as well as promoting health and safety throughout the school so must have a good knowledge of relevant legislation and procedures as well as the ability to communicate effectively. This is a busy, active and hands‑on role, so the ability to manage your time effectively and work to deadlines is essential.

Occasional evening/weekend working may be required from time to time to meet operational needs.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Passionate about ensuring the school environment is exemplary
  • Understanding of the importance of health and safety in a school
  • Flexible and able to work well as part of a team
  • Experienced in leading and supervising others
  • Highly organised with good time management, communication and IT skills

In return, we offer a competitive salary, a supportive and friendly working environment with a range of benefits including opportunities for continued professional development, a cycle to work scheme, on‑site free parking, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme, a staff wellbeing day per year and access to an Employee Assistance Programme and virtual GP service.
