Job summary

Omexom on the UK site is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead construction activities, ensuring safety, quality, and programme milestones are met. You will manage multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors, coordinate with Project Managers, and drive continuous improvement across site operations.

The role requires extensive site management experience on major construction or energy projects, with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 6 qualification (NVQ/ HNC/ HND or equivalent) in Construction or related discipline.
• SMSTS certificate (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
• Valid CSCS Black/ Gold Supervisory Card.
• Extensive experience in site management within major construction or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience delivering complex substation or energy infrastructure projects (greenfield and/ or brownfield).
• Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, CDM regulations and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and direction for all on-site operations, ensuring alignment with project objectives and Company standards.
• Lead site teams and subcontractors to drive high performance, accountability, and a positive safety culture.
• Act as the point of escalation for site-related issues, providing effective and timely resolution.
• Champion a strong health, safety, and environmental culture, ensuring full compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and Company requirements.
• Lead site risk assessments, method statements, and permit systems, ensuring safe systems of work are consistently applied.
• Take ownership of site delivery against programme milestones, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Work closely with Project Managers to develop, review, and manage project schedules.
• Monitor progress and productivity, challenging and supporting delivery teams to meet deadlines.
• Oversee efficient use of labour, plant, and materials, ensuring cost control and minimisation of waste.
• Support commercial teams by monitoring site performance, identifying variations, and managing cost impacts.
• Interface effectively with engineering, commercial, and project management teams to ensure coordinated delivery.
• Maintain site records, documentation, and compliance with audit requirements.

Job description

The key purpose of this role is to be responsible for the overall leadership and delivery of construction activities on site, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with programme, budget and quality requirements. This role provides strategic oversight of site operations, leading multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors while driving high standards in health & safety, performance and compliance. The Site Manager plays a key role in coordinating with Project Managers, engineering teams, and clients to ensure successful project delivery and continuous improvement across all site activities., Including but not limited to:

• Promote continuous improvement in safety performance and behavioural safety practices
• Take ownership of site delivery against programme milestones, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies
• Work closely with Project Managers to develop, review, and manage project schedules
• Monitor progress and productivity, challenging and supporting delivery teams to meet deadlines
• Oversee efficient use of labour, plant, and materials, ensuring cost control and minimisation of waste
• Support commercial teams by monitoring site performance, identifying variations, and managing cost impacts
• Ensure materials procurement and logistics align with programme requirements
• Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, standards, and quality requirements
• Drive a "right first time" approach and ensure robust inspection, testing, and handover processes
• Act as the on-site representative for clients, subcontractors, and key stakeholders
• Maintain strong working relationships and ensure clear, professional communication at all levels
• Interface effectively with engineering, commercial, and project management teams to ensure coordinated delivery
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of site progress, risks, safety performance, and key metrics
• Maintain site records, documentation, and compliance with audit requirements
• Support project governance processes and contribute to performance reviews and lessons learned

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
