Job summary

Costain is seeking a Site Manager in Norwich to coordinate personnel and delivery partners for construction works across the East of England network. The role focuses on safety, customer experience, and adherence to design directions.

The ideal candidate will have gas supervisory experience where possible, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in safe, compliant site delivery. UK driving license is required and we expect robust communication abilities.

Due to project growth the position of Site Manager has become available to join our successful team based in Norwich

Cadent is the UK’s largest Gas Distribution Company, operating 4 of the 8 UK Gas Distribution Networks (East of England, London, NorthWest and West Midlands). Their service spans over 131,000 kilometres of pipes supplying to 11 million homes & businesses. Costain is the preferred bidder for the East of England Construction Management organisation (CMO). Central to Costain’s role will be the strategic planning and programme management of Cadent’s capital investment programme, with a focus on delivering improved regulatory performance and future proofing the network for the benefit of Cadent’s customers.

The Site Manager will provide all necessary coordination of personnel / local delivery partners (LDP’s) and site management, customer care officers, supervision and technical support in the delivery of Construction work (replacement, reinforcements, diversions, multiple occupancy buildings, reinstatement etc.) activities in accordance with designers directions across the East of England network. Maximise the Customer experience, ensuring Costain’s customer commitments to Cadent are met and customer initiatives are always a high priority. Consistently demonstrate, promote and develop high standards of safety and compliance behaviour, leading by example.

• Previous gas supervisory experience is beneficial but not essential
• Ability to lead a team, influence and drive performance
• Site management experience
• High standards of safety and customer behaviour, leading by example, promoting safety and customer culture
• Working knowledge of relevant codes of practice, safety and statutory regulations
• Experience in delivering works in a safe and compliant manner
• Good communications skills required (written and verbal)
• Experience in operations relevant to SCO procedures (beneficial but not essential)
