A leading Facilities Management provider is searching for an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to oversee mechanical installations on live sites in Southampton. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing mechanical projects, along with relevant certifications. This freelance position offers a daily rate of £280.00 and runs from 1st November to the end of December 2025.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing mechanical projects in a Site Manager capacity.
• First Aid at Work certification preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks on site.

Responsibilities

• Manage subcontractors and direct labour on site.

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Site Manager to deliver site-based management of mechanical projects on behalf of a leading Facilities Management provider.

This is a fantastic short-term opportunity to lead mechanical works across live sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical installation works including HVAC, pipework, and associated building services
• Manage subcontractors and direct labour on site
• Ensure compliance with health & safety standards (RAMS, site inductions, toolbox talks, etc.)
• Monitor project progress and report updates to project stakeholders
• Coordinate materials, deliveries, and schedules to meet programme targets
• Maintain accurate site records and ensure QA documentation is completed

Requirements

• Proven experience managing mechanical projects in a Site Manager capacity
• SMSTS certification
• Strong mechanical background (HVAC, plumbing, pipework)
• CSCS card
• First Aid at Work (preferred)
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks on site
