Job description
The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to take overall responsibility for the safe, high-quality and technically compliant delivery of project works (or a defined section of the project). You will play a key role in ensuring the project is delivered in line with contractual, technical, health & safety, environmental and commercial requirements.

This role is based on a new hospital development, with responsibility for managing and coordinating the internal fit-out works.

What you will be doing
  • Take responsibility for the internal fit-out works on a new hospital project, ensuring delivery to programme, quality and safety standards.
  • Manage, coordinate and supervise internal trade contractors, monitoring safety, quality and productivity across all internal works.
  • Maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with trade contractors and coordinate internal works with all building services installations.
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation and company policies, promoting a positive safety culture on site.
  • Implement Tilbury Douglas Construction’s strategies, policies and procedures relating to Sustainability, Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental Management, Training and Development, acting as a role model for company values and behaviours.
  • Operate in accordance with the Company’s Business Management System, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records are maintained.
  • Proactively identify, manage and resolve site issues, risks and constraints.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and best practice across the project team.
  • Ensure works are delivered in accordance with contract requirements, specifications, drawings and statutory regulations.
  • Maintain appropriate records to demonstrate compliance with contractual and quality requirements.
What we will need from you
  • Proven experience as a Site Manager working for a main contractor
  • Strong technical knowledge with demonstrable experience managing internal fit-out works.
  • Degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant construction-related discipline (essential).
  • SMSTS and Safety Level 1 certification.
  • Valid and appropriate CSCS card.
  • Previous experience as a Graduate or Trainee Site Engineer.
  • Sound commercial and financial awareness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Experience working under the NEC form of contract.
