Job summary

Talent Guardian is sourcing a Site Manager for a West Midlands food manufacturing site. You will own the full operation from production planning to distribution, ensuring safety, quality, and cost control while driving continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Group Operations Manager, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team, embed a strong food safety culture (BRCGS/GMP), and deliver site profitability with accurate reporting to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Food manufacturing management experience across FMCG operations.
• Proven track record leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• BRCGS experience and HACCP Level 3 or 4.
• Budget management and continuous improvement experience.
• Useful but not essential: NEBOSH General Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely, Food Safety Level 4, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and retailer standards familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Take full operational ownership of the site, including production, warehousing, and distribution.
• Deliver production plans and meet KPIs across production, warehousing and distribution.
• Uphold safety and food safety culture, in line with BRCGS and GMP standards.
• Manage budgets, costs and site profitability with accurate reporting to leadership.
• Recruit, coach and develop a multi-disciplinary team and drive accountability.

Take full operational ownership of a food manufacturing site, with the backing of a group that's genuinely growing.

A food business that distributes across the UK food sector, supplying major national retailers, foodservice businesses from its West Midlands base. We're looking for a Site Manager to lead the site. This is the top job on site. Manufacturing, engineering, warehousing, facilities, health and safety all of it yours, reporting directly to the Group Operations Manager.

What you'll own

• The whole operation, day to day. Production plans delivered consistently, KPIs met across production, warehousing and distribution, and machine uptime improved rather than merely maintained.
• The safety and food safety culture. Not the paperwork the culture. BRCGS, GMP and statutory compliance are the floor, not the ambition.
• The numbers. Waste and operating costs down, budgets controlled, site profitability supported, with accurate daily and monthly reporting into senior leadership.
• The people. Recruiting, coaching and developing a multi-disciplinary team, and creating the kind of accountability where everyone knows what's expected and has what they need to deliver it.
• The improvements. Continuous improvement, controlled change properly embedded, capital projects identified, justified and delivered, and operational data used to make better decisions.

What you'll bring

• Food manufacturing management experience, in any of chilled, frozen, ambient, ready meals, bakery, sauces, oils, meat, dairy or comparable FMCG operations.
• A track record leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• BRCGS experience and HACCP Level 3 or 4.
• Budget management and continuous improvement experience.
• Useful but not essential: NEBOSH General Certificate, IOSH Managing Safely, Food Safety Level 4, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and experience supplying foodservice or working to retailer standards such as Tesco, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Aldi or Lidl.
