Job summary

UKRI’s DeepTech Catalyst invites applications for a Programme Manager at the Daresbury site. You will lead DTC programmes in Biotech and Health tech, overseeing operations, targets and relationships with co-funding partners while working closely with multiple sites.

The role requires on-site presence and travel within the UK. You will manage a small team, engage with 20+ start-ups annually, and drive strategic delivery across programmes, with a focus on impact and value creation for

Qualifications

• Experience with technology-based SMEs and knowledge of the support they require to take a product to market, ideally in biotech/health tech.
• Ability to evaluate business plans and provide constructive, actionable feedback.
• Proven business development experience with a pipeline of opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead DTC operations and support new programmes at Daresbury.
• Set and deliver targets for DTC programmes (start-ups, graduation rates, case studies, impact).
• Maintain high-quality deal-flow by supporting applicants to develop competitive applications.
• Ensure engagement completion and exploitation of provided support for start-ups.
• Own operational relationships with co-funding partners (e.g., UKRI-BBSRC, Liverpool City Region).
• Cultivate regional relationships for business support, funding and investment.
• Collaborate with STFC and Marketing to promote impact of the DTC.
• Work with STFC cluster teams to maximise impact of our support.
• Produce timely business, financial and operational reports; support strategy refresh for Biotech/Health.
