Job summary

Whitworths in the United Kingdom is seeking a Site Facilities Engineer to keep our manufacturing site safe, efficient and reliable. This hands-on role covers utilities, site services, building systems and critical equipment, with Monday to Friday day shifts.

You will troubleshoot, maintain and drive improvements, work with colleagues and contractors, keep accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with site standards. Experience in regulated environments is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
• Strong electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience with compressed air and steam generation.
• Knowledge of single- and three-phase electrical systems.
• Root-cause problem solver and proactive learner.
• Team player with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and improving site utilities including compressed air, steam, electrical, gas and water systems.
• Delivering planned preventative maintenance and responding to breakdowns when needed.
• Supporting continuous improvement projects that reduce downtime and improve reliability.
• Working closely with colleagues and contractors to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Keeping accurate maintenance records and ensuring compliance with site standards.

This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for the infrastructure that keeps our operation running—from utilities and site services to building systems and critical equipment. Working Monday to Friday on static day shifts, you'll troubleshoot, maintain, improve and help shape the future of our facilities.

What you'll be doing

• Maintaining and improving site utilities including compressed air, steam, electrical, gas and water systems.


• Delivering planned preventative maintenance and responding to breakdowns when needed.

What we're looking for

Experience within food manufacturing or regulated environments would be an advantage, but attitude, capability and a willingness to learn are just as important.
